Innovation Using The Natural Bone Growth Process
Once the S-VETOSS Bone Graft Material is implanted in the surgical site...
Stage 1
Biological fluid including blood, local growth factors, and non-collagen proteins, diffuse into the network of micro and macropores purposefully engineered into the bioceramics.
Stage 2
Macrophages nest in macropores and secrete growth factors promoting osteogenesis and healing as they absorb and resorb the bio-ceramics. Stem cells begin adhering to the apatite and start differentiating into osteoclasts for resorption and osteoblasts for bone formation.
Stage 3
Osteoblasts begin to mature into osteocytes, which initiate the reconstruction of the overall bone architecture. As the new bone develops, it is filled with collagen fibers and blood vessels, replacing the synthetic matrix. The synthetic biomaterial is gradually resorbed away over the ensuing months until it is fully replaced by natural native bone.
